Buyid Dynasty Flag (934–1062)
The striped green and gold banner of the Buyid Dynasty, representing Persian Shia rule (934–1062).
The Buyid Dynasty Flag (934–1062) is depicted as a green and gold striped banner featuring the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) written twice: "There is no god but Allah". The Buyids, a Persian Shia dynasty of Daylamite origin, controlled Iran and Iraq while maintaining the Abbasid Caliph as a figurehead. Their rule revived Persian administrative traditions while establishing Shia Islam’s growing influence in Persia. The green and gold stripes symbolized Islamic governance and prosperity, while the dual Shahada inscriptions reinforced their religious authority. The Buyids ruled until they were replaced by the Seljuks in 1062.
